I will make no allusions here - the characters that I create are all featured in a story that I am writing, and I utilize them to help with refining realistic dialog in the story I am creating. However, the story is not what I really hope to be the main attraction of Eldrhan Online. I hope that this world - Eldrhan - is something that those who enjoy Role Playing Games like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, Call of Cthulu, and even The World of Darkness, to those who love Isekai Manga / Anime, Fantasy Literature, and litRPGs would enjoy.

Why am I Creating this Project?

Eldrahn Online is a project that is focused on what is most memorable about the stories we love - the characters - and allowing people to interact with them in as natural of a way as possible. While the world of Eldrahn has a deep lore and history, it is not as essential as the characters that are within it. Using this approach, the story of Eldrahn Online is unlike your classical series - it’s driven by you - the person who’s reading this page.

With the push for large language models and generative AI to be included in everything, we are presented with the opportunity to go out and create characters that behave startlingly close to their canon or imagined counterparts on several services that are dedicated to roleplaying with these characters. We even have websites like Agnaistic that allow us to use to local models we host ourselves, with friends swapping character cards in a “Gotta catch ‘em all!” fashion that fills my heart with nostalgic glee. This evolution has brought an exciting level of immersion to roleplaying and opens up new possibilities for storytelling within any online community, enriching the tabletop and roleplaying landscape and enticing creative minds to collaborate and innovate with a new creative medium.

I won’t lie to you - there are definitely some ethical concerns when it comes to the source of AI training data. Several news articles involving even bigwigs like Wizards of the Coast have centered around AI. It’s high time that someone explored what it has to offer in a fashion that’s driven by community input - and that’s why we’re here. Eldrahn Online is meant to be a project not driven by me alone - but by readers and fans like yourself.
